Disgrace Abounding is a 1939 political travelogue and commentary by Douglas Reed, written as a sequel to his earlier book Insanity Fair. The book chronicles Reed’s travels through Central and Eastern Europe during the late 1930s as Europe moved toward World War II. It combines eyewitness reporting, political analysis, memoir, and polemical commentary.
Reed argues that Europe was descending into catastrophe because Britain and France failed to confront aggressive authoritarian regimes early enough. He sharply criticizes:
