"Money" - The Greatest Hoax on Earth is a 1971 book by Merrill M. E. Jenkins Sr. (1919–1979), a self-styled "monetary realist" who argued that modern fiat currency is a deceptive tool used by banking systems to perpetuate fraud. Jenkins argued that the US monetary system is designed to create inflation, which he deemed the primary, hidden tax on the public.
